Headline sponsors Women in Games Festival

Trains and Fishing Sim specialist Dovetail Games has given its full support to the Women in Games Festival, signing as Festival Headline Sponsor and Launch Party Partner

The Women in Games Festival [https://www.womeningamesfestival.org] takes place from September 6th-18th and encompasses a Launch Party (live and virtual), Games Jam, Conference, Esports Tournament, Awards and a series of Satellite Events hosted by friends and supporters of Women in Games

“At Dovetail Games we believe that diversity matters. It is a subject that is central to how we operate our business, and we are committed to promoting equal opportunities,” said Dovetail Games’ CEO Jon Rissik.

“Dovetail has been a major supporter of Women In Games since 2016 and sponsoring this important festival is the next logical step in our relationship. Data tells us that although women make up 50% of the game playing audience they only account for 23% of the games industry workforce. That’s a disappointing statistic, and although Dovetail are tracking ahead of that number we recognise that we have more to do to redress imbalances. Ultimately we believe that every developer wants to craft the very best entertainment possible, and that we improve the likelihood of doing that if we have creative and technical input from the widest and most diverse possible cross-section of society. We are not interested in inclusivity box-ticking – we want to be a part of meaningful change.”

Marie-Claire Isaaman, CEO of Women in Games, added: “Dovetail Games have been a long standing and valued champion of Women in Games since I became CEO in 2016. Gemma Johnson Brown the COO of Dovetail Games is on our Executive Board as Ambassador Director and under her insightful direction this ground-breaking community programme has achieved unprecedented success. Dovetail Games have already done so much to support Women in Games and I am extremely appreciative for their continued engagement, which empowers us to fulfil our mission. I am thrilled that they are this years’ Festival Headline Sponsor and our Festival Launch Party partners.
