Associate Technical Designer

Our studio is situated in a river-front building in the heart of the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, UK. We are growing fast, developing our games using cutting-edge technology and delivering these on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Series S/X

We are looking for a Associate Technical Designer to help develop and support content for our Train Simulator Development Team. 

Responsibilities

  • Bringing our digital world to life with the use of scripting to drive the functional detail of our vehicles and gameplay. 
  • Research, specification and implementation of rolling stock charactistics, physics and functionality. 
  • Understand, research, specify and implement rail signalling and safety systems. 
  • Assist with testing and bug-fixing where necessary. 
  • Implementation of localised language support which makes our products accessible to players from all over the world. 

What we look for in you

  • Ideally experienced with Lua scripting language and has a fundamental understanding of object-oriented coding practices. 
  • Must be self-motivated, a good communicator, and a supportive team player. 
  • Must be a creative but practical problem solver. 
  • Possess an eye for the smallest of details. 
  • Passionate about trains, engineering and/or gaming is desirable but not essential.
